Blue Dismay?

So i wrote the majority of this one morning watching the sunrise on the central coast at my friend Justin’s house from Elliot The Bull. It was a huge night - and i couldn’t sleep the morning away - so i spent it watching the waves crash against the beach and spilling out the tune. I just finished it - expect a demo of it sometime this week. I’d do it now, but I’m too down to make anything sound decent. It still doesn’t have a name.

So whats the point of calling quits
when the weight on your chest just never lifts
and the princess got so sick when you went away

She was all distraught in her satin gown,
as she walked the streets from dusk till dawn
leaking tears and prayers in blue dismay.

She crossed the park with her bandaged wrists
and at least three words upon her wrists
she repeated over and over to keep her sane.

She had it all in a cotton dream,
that had been stitched so well and seamlessly
that when it tore her entire world just frayed.

and against the wall, she colapsed completely
and against the wall, she took up the whiskey,
oh what a beautiful mess
in a salvation army dress
as a red sunrise gave light to her downfall.

The worst part was it was set in stone,
like a statuette powdered with snow,
that can never leave or taste or grow.

So her boots were laced like its all she had
as she took off without even making plans
except to walk until her pain grew old

And it grew old, like the light on the horizon
and it grew old, like you and I both should have.
a tale that would never sleep;
a tale fit for kings and queens,
but we both grew old in separate destinies.

so as her hair grew grey and down her back,
her mind reversed in its lonely tracks
as her pale white skin drank up the sunlight
and like any burn it went blood deep,
as she re-lived our old memories
on a garden bench set there by destiny.

and the clock cried, as it rang out at midnight
and her eyes, reflected like a mirror,
the night she turned away,
and left with a glass display.
and you drowned yourself by the pearly gates.
